Family Literacy Day: Where the Wild Things Are

Please note that parking will be limited on Thursday evening. Additional parking is available at Stratford Central Secondary School, Perth County Courthouse and Kalbfleisch Parking Lot.

We’re so wild about Family Literacy Day that we are starting the celebration early on Thursday January 24th.

Family Literacy Day® is a national awareness initiative created by ABC Life Literacy Canada in 1999 and held annually to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. This year is the 20th Anniversary of Family Literacy Day!

Join us for a full day of wild programs:

10:30-11:30am | "Where the Wild Things Are" Storytime and Early Learning Centres in the Auditorium
3:30-5:00pm | Wild and Wacky STEAM in the Auditorium
6:45 - 7:00pm | Screening of "Where the Wild Things Are" film from Kanopy
7:00 - 8:00pm | Family Scavenger Hunt and Maker Activities throughout the Library
*Mayor Dan Mathieson will join us for the celebration of Family Literacy Day in the evening!

All programs are geared to anyone who likes to have fun and get a little wild & crazy. There’s guaranteed to be roaring, stomping, and even gnashing of teeth. Let the Wild Rumpus begin!
