Connected Community

The need for connection and community is primal, as fundamental as the need for air, water, and food.
- Dean Ornish

Everyone in our community  deserves to have access to online resources with the opportunity to connect, engage and learn. This is especially true during the current COVID-19 health crisis when people are asked to practice physical distancing, self-isolation and quarantine. Stratford Public Library has joined together with the United Way Perth-Huron, Rhyzome Networks, The Local Community Food Centre, and GOTECH to launch the Connected Community initiative.

The project seeks to provide internet connectivity and access to technology for community members in need. Local residents will recieve devices connected to free WIFI for a 3 month period provided by Rhyzome Networks.

Here's how to help

We are currently seeking donations of previously loved devices (tablets, laptops, and phones) to be redistributed to local residents in need.

If you would like to donate your gently-used device, please contact United Way Perth-Huron at 519.271.7730.

IMPORTANT: All devices must be factory reset before they are redistributed. Follow this helpful information sheet on how to reset your device before donating. All donated devices will be checked and sanitized by GoTech before they are given out.
