The library will continue to offer curbside service only until the tentative date of Jan 23 due to Covid-19 staffing and public health considerations. We will also remain closed Sundays and Mondays until that time.

Family Literacy Day

Family Literacy Day takes place across Canada every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. This year's theme is "Learning in the Great Outdoors".

Explore our outdoor self-directed family literacy activities in front of the library from January 24-28. Please remember to keep a safe social distance from other participants.

You can also celebrate throughout the month:

  • Pick up or print out a January Activity Calendar that is packed with ideas designed to make outdoor time, fun family learning time.
  • Take home and complete weekly challenges (eg. outdoor BINGO, outdoor scavenger hunt, Google Maps challenge) and return them to the library by the following Saturday to be entered in draws for Family Literacy Day packs.

More Upcoming Library Programs

  • Babies up to 18 months can join us for interactive songs, rhymes, and literacy activities in Virtual Baby Steps [Tuesday Afternoon | Wednesday Morning]
  • Tune in to Whale of a Tale virtual storytime with Trish every Monday night at 6:30 on Facebook
  • Sign preschoolers up for Movers & Shakers, an upbeat storytime packed with songs, dances, fingerplays, and interactive storytelling with Beth
