Bring Home Wi-Fi internet access!
You can now borrow a WiFi hotspot from the library to access high speed, unlimited Internet everywhere you go! With a WiFi hotspot, you can use to connect a mobile-enabled device, such as a laptop, smartphone or tablet, to the Internet. The hotspot is portable, so you can connect your mobile device almost wherever you are, like at home, on the bus or in the park.

Who can borrow?
Our hotspots are available to anyone over the age of 18 with a Stratford Public Library card (in good standing).
Where will it work?
The hotspots deliver unlimited data and are capable of connecting anywhere in Canada that has Bell cellular coverage. We cannot guarantee connectivity.
How to borrow?
Visit the library and speak to a staff member at the adult information desk. You can also reserve one online as you would a book. WiFi Hotspots can be borrowed for up to one week (7 days) at a time and cannot be renewed.
Where to return?
WiFi Hotspots must be returned to the Stratford Public Library during operating hours and returned directly to a staff member, who will ensure all device pieces have been returned in good condition. Borrowers are asked to complete a post-loan survey.
Overdue and Replacement Fees
The overdue fine for WiFi Hotspots is $1/day. If the device becomes overdue, the library will disable it until it is returned. The replacement fee for WiFi Hotspots is $200 for a lost or damaged device; $15 for a lost or damaged cord or case; and a $5 processing fee in addition to the replacement cost for any lost or damaged items.
Charging the WiFi Hotspot
In order to keep the WiFi Hotspots available to the public as often as possible, the library cannot ensure that they are fully charged upon check out. It is the responsibility of the customer to adequately charge the WiFi Hotspot for their own use by using the charging cable and instructions provided.
Stratford Public Library does not monitor, collect, or store data about users’ internet activity. All users must abide by SPL’s Internet Access & Acceptable Use policy and understand there is no guarantee the hotspot WiFi connection will be entirely private.
